ABOUT
NOBLE

Noble Automotive Ltd., more commonly known simply as Noble, is a British sports car manufacturer.

It was established in 1999 by Lee Noble in Barwell, Leicestershire, for producing high-speed sports cars with a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout. Lee Noble was the chief designer and owner of Noble. He sold the company in August 2006. He resigned from the company in February 2008.

Noble is a low-production British sports car company, currently developing the M600. Its past products include the M12-GTO3R and Noble M400. The M12 and M400 share chassis and body, but differ in engines, suspension, etc. The M15 has a new space frame chassis. The body and chassis of the Noble is built by Hi-Tech Automotive in Port Elizabeth, South Africa alongside Superformance cars. Once the body shell is completed, it is sent to the Noble factory where the engines, suspension, etc. are added.

Noble does not currently manufacture any of its models. The rights to the M12/M400 were sold by Noble Automotive in February 2007 to 1G Racing from Ohio, and 1G is expected to release an updated version, named Rossion Q1. Noble is currently in the final stages of producing its newest model, the M15/M600 (the latter of which will be a high performance model of the former).

YAMAHA Motorcycle

Yamaha Motor Company Limited, a Japanese motorized vehicle-producing company. Yahama Motor is part of the Yamaha Corporation and its headquarter is located in Iwata, Shizuoka. Along with expanding Yamaha Corporation into the world's biggest piano maker, then Yamaha CEO Genichi Kawakami took Yamaha into the field of motorized vehicles on July 1, 1955. The company's intensive research into metal alloys for use in acoustic pianos had given Yamaha wide knowledge of the making of lightweight, yet sturdy and reliable metal constructions. This knowledge was easily applied to the making of metal frames and motor parts for motorcycles. Yamaha Motor is the world's second largest producer of motorcycles after Honda[citation needed]. It also produces many other motorized vehicles such as all-terrain vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, Yamaha outboard motors, and personal watercraft.

The Yamaha corporate logo is composed of three tuning forks placed on top of each other in a triangular pattern.

In 2000, Toyota and Yamaha Corporation made a capital alliance where Toyota paid Yamaha Corporation 10.5 billion yen for a 5 per cent share in Yamaha Motor Company while Yamaha and Yamaha Motor each bought 500,000 shares of Toyota stock in return.

ABOUT
SATURN

Saturn LLC is a subsidiary of General Motors Company, established on January 7, 1985, in response to the success of Japanese and German small-car imports in the United States. As a "different kind of car company," Saturn operated outside the GM superstructure for a time, with its own assembly plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee, unique models, and a separate retailer network.

On June 5, 2009, General Motors announced that they would be selling Saturn LLC and Saturn Distribution Corporation to Penske Automotive Group.

History

1982-1990:
Formation
Alex C. Mair began discussions of a revolutionary new, small-car project codenamed "Saturn" in June of 1982. In November of 1983, the Saturn idea is publicized by General Motors' Chairman Roger B. Smith and General Motors' President F. James McDonald. Twelve months later, the first Saturn demonstration vehicle is revealed. On January 7th, 1985 the Saturn Corporation was officially founded.

1990-2000:
"A New Kind of Car Company"
In July of 1990 GM Chairman Roger Smith and UAW President Owen Bieber drove the very first Saturn off the assembly line in Spring Hill, Tennessee. The brand was marketed as a "different kind of car company," and Saturn operated outside the GM conglomerate, with its own assembly plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee, unique models, and a separate retailer network. The brand was immediately known for its 'no haggle' prices. The first Saturn Model, the Saturn S-Series, was a huge hit. A year later, Saturn hit the Canadian market. 499,999 Saturns later, 'Carla' is welcomed in 1993. In May 1995, 'Jasper', Saturn's Millionth car is produced. In 1996, the short lived GM EV1 hit Saturn Showrooms. In 1997, Saturn entered the Japanese market. In January 1999, Saturn rolled out its two millionth car. In late 1999, Saturn began production of its all new L-Series.

2000-2008:
Model expansion
Saturn's first Compact Crossover Sport Utility Vehicle was introduced in 2000 as the Saturn Vue. The Saturn Vue was known as the Chevrolet Captiva in Mexico, Europe and Brazil; the GMC Terrain in the Middle East; Holden Captiva MaXX in the Oceania regions; Opel Antara in mainland Europe and Ireland; and Vauxhall Antara in the United Kingdom. In 2003, Saturn introduced the Saturn Ion as a replacement to the Saturn S-Series. In 2005, Saturn began selling the Saturn Outlook, a larger SUV than the Saturn Vue. That same year the Saturn L-Series was discontinued. The Saturn Sky was introduced in 2006. In 2007, the Saturn Aura made its way to dealerships, and the Saturn Ion was discontinued. The Saturn Astra was discontinued a year later. During the 2008 NAIAS, Saturn revealed its Flextreme concept vehicle, which is essentially a rebadged Opel Flextreme.

In 2004, GM and the UAW dissolved their unique labor contract for the Spring Hill, Tennessee manufacturing plant.

2008-2009:
Sale of brand, market changes
In US Congressional hearings on December 2, 2008, General Motors announced its intentions to focus on four core brands (Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, GMC), with the sale, consolidation, or closure of Saturn and the remaining brands (Pontiac, Hummer, and Saab). General Motors Chairman and former CEO Rick Wagoner announced during a news conference on February 17, 2009 that Saturn will remain in operation through the end of the planned lifecycle for all Saturn products (2010-11).

In February 2009, GM declared its intent to part with this brand by closing or selling the division, either to investors or to dealers, as part of restructuring plans dependent upon the receipt of a second round of government loans ("bailout" funding). If the brand were to be phased out, It is the third such action for GM in the 21st century, following those of Oldsmobile, which ceased production in 2004, and Pontiac, which will cease production by the end of the 2010 model year.

General Motors announced in June 2009 that it was selling the brand to Penske Automotive Group. The arrangement is similar to the deal under which Penske distributes Daimler AG's Smart Car in the United States. GM hopes to conclude a deal by the end of the third quarter. Penske will not be buying the factories and will eventually have other car companies build cars sold as Saturns. GM will build the Aura, Vue, and Outlook for Penske for two years. To replace GM as the brand's manufacturer, Penske is in discussions with several global automakers, including Renault Samsung Motors of Korea.

By the end of 2009, GM will close all of its 46 Saturn dealerships in Canada. GM and Penske decided that they could no longer make a business case to distribute Saturn vehicles in Canada after the sale of the brand. Saturn's customer service, parts, and warranty operations will move to other GM dealerships in Canada. Saturn dealerships in Canada also selling Saab vehicles will sell exclusively Saab vehicles after GM sells Saturn to Penske, Hummer to Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Company and Saab to Koenigsegg.

As of 2009, the company shares GM's Delta, Epsilon, Kappa, Lambda and Theta platforms, and the company's Ecotec engines - including the new 2.4L LE5 I4, Turbo 2.0L LNF I4, and DCVCP 1.8L I4 - and the High Feature LY7 3.6L V6 and High Value LZ4 3.5L V6 engines. The Saturn Vue used a Honda engine in the past, and the plastic body panels have been discontinued on all current vehicles.

The 2009 Saturn models are the Sky roadster, the Aura sedan, the Astra hatchback, the Vue small crossover SUV and the Outlook full-size crossover SUV built off the GM Lambda platform (replacing the Relay minivan).

Some current Saturns are virtually identical to certain Opel/Vauxhall models. For example, the 2008 Saturn Vue is a rebadged Opel Antara, while the Opel GT is based on the Saturn Sky. The Opel Astra is imported from Antwerp, Belgium as the Saturn Astra (replacing the Ion as the entry-level car). On the other hand, the Saturn Aura, while sometimes compared to the Opel Vectra, is a unique model for the North American market similar to the Pontiac G6.

The company offers two sub-lines of vehicles: "Red Line" Saturns are performance-oriented, while "Green Line" cars are more environmentally friendly hybrids. The Vue and Ion Red Line models, launched in 2004, have been joined by Vue and AURA Green Lines for the 2007 model year and a Sky Red Line the same model year. Saturn's Green Line vehicles utilize mild hybrid technology.

BENELLI motorcycle MODELS

BENELLI Motorcycle

Benelli is an Italian motorcycle manufacturing company founded back in 1911, in Pesaro, Italy. Originally Teresa Benelli. Once she became a widow she invested all her money into a company in order for her six sons to get a decent job. At first, the company was called Benelli Garage and handled the repair of cars and motorcycles and could also produce the spare parts needed for those repairs.

Because they were very good manufacturers and somewhat engineers, the Benelli boys came up in 1920 with their first engine produced completely in-house. It was a 75 cc single-cylinder two stroke engine and it was adapted to a bicycle frame. In 1921, the company built its first motorcycle, based on the 75 cc engine, which had become by then a 98 cc one.

In two years time, Benelli became interested in motorsports and sent Tonino Benelli on the track to ride a racing version of the company's first bike. After a few years, Tonino became successful in motorsports and riding a Benelli 175 won the Italian championship in 1927, 1928, 1930 and 1931. A year after his latest success (1932), Tonino tragically died in a road accident.

Just on the break of World War II, the Italian company presented a four-cylinder supercharged 250cc racing bike. They wanted to use this bike in the 1940 season but because of the start of the war their plans failed. Another downside of the second World War was that Benelli seized production until 1949, the same year that Giuseppe Benelli left the company and founded Motobi.

Business continued without him and the Benelli company had a few bikes on sale by the time 1951 came. The most notable are the 98cc and 125cc Leoncino models, available in both two-stroke and four-stroke. Almost ten years passed until 1962 when Benelli and Motobi were able to produce around 300 motorcycles and had a total of 550 employees.

Benelli underwent some rough time, as all European motorcycle manufacturers did, when Japanese companies entered the European market. Although they were selling a lot of bikes on the American market, by the the late 70s came Benelli halted production.

This lasted for a few years, until Giancarlo Selci decided to back up and revive Benelli which proved to be a wrong move, things not working out for Selci. Benelli had to wait until 1995 to meet somebody capable of reviving the brand. This person was Andrea Merloni who helped to the development of the Tornado 900 Tre super sport bike in 2002.

At the current moment, the Italian manufacturer is part of the Chinese group Qianjiang.

ABOUT
HUMMER

Hummer is a brand of off-road vehicles sold by General Motors (GM). The original Hummer H1 was based on the military High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV, or Humvee). However, the Hummer H2 and the Hummer H3 were based on other, smaller civilian-market vehicles.

Hummers were originally built by AM General Corporation, which was formerly AMC Jeep's General Products division, in its Mishawaka, Indiana assembly plant. They were created under a contract for the United States armed forces. The first model, the Hum-Vee, was built in a variety of military-based equipment and versions. These included troop carriers, gun turrets and radar. The U.S. military, on receiving their quota, have adapted some of the vehicles, including modifications to facilitate a directional microwave crowd control beam (Active Denial System).

AM General began to make plans to sell a civilian version of the vehicle after the military model received so much public interest in the late 1980s. In 1990, two matching white Hum-Vees were driven from London to Beijing over the rough roads of central Soviet Union. The Hummers made the trip with ease, for they were built to drive on off-road terrain. The highlights of this journey were broadcast in the United States on ESPN. This publicity would pale in comparison to the attention that the Hum-Vee received for its service in Operation: Desert Storm the following year. Also, a privately-owned Hum-Vee was modified into the first Snow-Vee, including the addition of caterpillar tracks, a new rear compartment and a new engine. This vehicle was designed for use in and just below the Arctic Circle, and the Antarctic.

In 1992, AM General began selling a civilian version of the M998 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV or Hum-Vee) vehicle to the public under the brand name "Hummer".

In 1998, AM General sold the brand name to General Motors, but continued to manufacture the vehicles. GM is responsible for the marketing and distribution of all Hummers produced by AM General. In the next few years, GM introduced two new homegrown models, the H2 and H3, and renamed the original vehicle H1. AM General continued to build the H1 until it was discontinued in 2006, and is contracted by GM to produce the H2. The H3 is built in Shreveport, LA alongside the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups, with which it shares the GMT-355 platform (custom modified and designated GMT-345).

By 2006, the Hummer also began to be exported and sold through importers and distributors in 33 countries.[3] On 10 October 2006, GM began producing the Hummer H3 at its Port Elizabeth plant in South Africa for international markets. The Hummers built there at first were only left-hand drive, but right-hand drive versions were added and exported to Australia and other markets.

The H2 is also assembled in Kaliningrad, Russia, by Avtotor, starting in June 2004. The plant produces a few hundred vehicles annually, and its output is limited to local consumption (five dealers in Russia initially).

On June 3, 2008, one day prior to GM's annual shareholder meeting, Rick Wagoner, GM's CEO at that time, said the brand is being reviewed, and has the possibility of either being sold, having the production line completely redesigned, or being discontinued. This is due to the decreasing demand for large SUVs as a result of higher oil prices. Almost immediately after the announcement, a pair of Indian automakers, including Mahindra & Mahindra, expressed interest in purchasing all or part of Hummer.
On February 17, 2009, GM announced that it would decide by March 31, 2009, whether to sell off or eliminate the Hummer. However, the announcement has been delayed. As of April 2009, the company has no plans to continue the nameplate after the 2010 model year.

GM President Fritz Henderson stated several interested parties approached GM regarding the Hummer business.

On April 5, 2009, Société de Participation Financière Eidos Canada Inc. made an unsolicited bid for Hummer.

On June 1, 2009, as a part of the General Motors bankruptcy announcement, the company revealed that the Hummer brand would be discontinued. However, the following day GM announced that instead it had reached a deal to sell the brand to an undisclosed Chinese company. On 2 June 2009, CNN and The New York Times identified the buyer of the Hummer truck unit as China-based Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Company. Later that day, Sichuan Tengzhong confirmed the sale on their own website.

On June 26, 2009 Chinese state radio announced that the bid by Sichuan Tengzhong to buy Hummer would be blocked on environmental grounds and that the National Development and Reform Commission would also block the bid as Sichuan Tengzhong "lacks expertise in car production". Tengzhong was expected to keep HUMMER a U.S.-based company. Though an exact location had not been selected, HUMMER global headquarters would have been in the United States.[13] Under the terms of the agreement, Tengzhong would have initially contracted production and major components to General Motors.

GM's sale of HUMMER to Tengzhong would not have included any HUMVEE military technology, since HUMVEE technology and production are owned exclusively by AM General, not General Motors.

ABOUT
JAGUAR

Jaguar Cars is a British automobile manufacturer. Founded in 1922 as the Swallow Sidecar Company by William Lyons, it was renamed Jaguar in 1935. The company is owned by the Ford Motor Company. Jaguar is known for its luxury saloons and sports cars, market segments it has been in since the 1930s.

The company was independent until it became part of the nationally-owned British Motor Corporation in 1966.

In 1984 it was floated as a separate company on the stock market -- one of the Thatcher government's many privatizations -- only to be taken over by Ford in 1989-1990. In 1999 it was made part of Ford's new Premier Automotive Group along with Aston Martin, Land Rover, Volvo and Lincoln.

The company was originally located in Blackpool but re-located to Coventry to be at the heart of the British motor industry. Today factories are at Browns Lane in Coventry, Castle Bromwich in Birmingham and Halewood in Liverpool.

Jaguar owns the Daimler car company (not to be confused with Daimler-Benz), which it bought in 1960. Daimler is now little more than a brand name for Jaguar's most luxurious saloons.

Of the saloons, the most significant is the XJ6 (1968-1992), still the definitive Jaguar car for many. Since then the XJ6 has had major new models in 1986 (overlapping with the old model for several years), 1994 and 2002. The drive to bring in smaller, more popular models has been met by the smaller S-Type (1999- ) and the smaller still X-Type (2001- ).

There have been several significant sports cars: the XK120 (1948-1954), E-Type (1961-1975), the XJS (1975-1996), and XK8 (1996- ) are the main post-war models. JaguarSport: XJ220 (1988) and the racing XJR15.
